‘The Bachelor’ Finale Recap: Who Won Season 27? Did Zach Shallcross Get Engaged?
Zach Shallcross came, he bored Bachelor Nation to tears, he tested positive for COVID-19, and he made a mess of Fantasy Suites. Now, after introducing his two remaining women — Kaity Biggar and Gabi Elnicki — to his parents and picking out a ring, the man is engaged. Or is he?! You’ll have to keep reading to find out.
On Monday night’s Bachelor finale, we watched Shallcross, Biggar, and Elnicki embark on their final romantic dates. Shallcross and Biggar embraced adventure with a scenic Thailand hike, while he and Elnicki bonded by riding horses along a beach. After a whole lot of tears, anxiety, and uncertainty, a proposal DID take place, as did a breakup.
After this tumultuous season did Zach Shallcross get engaged to Kaity Biggar or Gabi Elnicki? If so, are Shallcross and his fiancé still together? And were Reality Steve’s finale predictions correct? We’ve got all the answers below. Buckle up, Bachelor fans!
Did Zach Shallcross Get Engaged on The Bachelor Finale? Who Won The Bachelor Season 27?
YES! Zach Shallcross did get engaged during the Season 27 finale. After an emotional beach breakup with Elnicki, Shallcross proposed to Biggar, a 27-year-old ER nurse from Austin, Texas, and she said “ABSOLUTELY.” According to Jesse Palmer, that means Shallcross is the first Bachelor lead to get engaged since Peter Weber in Season 24. Dang! You can follow Biggar on Instagram @kaityylane and read more about her Bachelor journey here.
Are Zach Shallcross And Kaity Biggar Still Together?
Yes! Palmer invited Biggar (and her disco ball engagement ring) to join Shallcross on stage after the finale concluded and the two confirmed they’re still together and they’ve managed to successfully navigate Shallcross’ Fantasy Suite faux pas. “We’ve been waiting for this moment for so long — counting down the days until we could sit on the stage and announce it,” Biggar said. “And even just go to a coffee shop or a restaurant together,” Shallcross added.
“I have to ask you something that I think all of Bachelor Nation is wondering: How do you feel about all of Zach’s shower scenes?” Palmer asked Biggar. “They’re ridiculous,” she laughed. “One too many times was that shown. But I think maybe in our house to come we should probably get an outdoor shower.”
Shallcross gave an update on their living situation and shared that although they’re spending some time in New York together, he’s packing his stuff up and moving to Austin, where he and Biggar plan to move in together this summer. Since The Bachelor was such an accelerated process, the two also shared that they want to take their time wedding planning and are thinking about a 2025 ceremony.
Was Reality Steve Right About Season 27 of The Bachelor?
Prior to the Season 27 finale, Bachelor Nation’s favorite spoiler Reality Steve reported that Zach Shallcross and Kaity Biggar were engaged, but in a rare instance of conflicting season spoilers, he acknowledged that another Instagram account was calling Elnicki as the winner.
“Yes, I’m well aware that an Instagram account posted two months ago that Zach was engaged to Gabi. Here’s what I can tell you: I trust my sources just like I assume they trust their sources. It’s now up to you the public to decide who you choose to believe. Personally, I’ll bet on myself,” Reality Steve wrote on February 6. “I don’t reveal my sources or how I get any info. But with another spoiler out there for two months that’s opposite of mine, now we can officially say one of us is dead wrong. Gonna make for a great finale night I tell ya’.”
Though the episode kept us on the edge of our seats, The Bachelor‘s Season 27 finale and “After The Final Rose” episode confirmed that Reality Steve’s intel was correct! Congrats on another successful season, sir.
